Gábor Sós
graphic artist and photographer,
senior Art Director

After completing my studies at "Kisképző" (Secondary School of Visual Arts, Budapest), I obtained my degree from the Hungarian University of Arts and Design in 1983, at the faculty of Typo-Graphics. Among others, my teachers at Kisképző were Tibor Zala, Gábor Gacs, Antal Gunda, Iván Szkok, and at the University of Arts and Design (presently called MOME): György Haiman, László Zsótér, János Miklós Kádár. But first and foremost László Sós and Éva Kemény (So-Ky).

Over the past four decades I have designed logos and done graphics for several companies and events and have worked on numerous advertising campaigns. In my works, the emphasis is on creativity – I don’t complicate things, I simplify.

I create photo graphics using my inner inspirations, the subject can be anything. I always adapt my own photos into graphic art. My favourite subjects are musician portraits, old vehicles, truck trial, tarnished and rustic buildings. I started my journey with photography back in the "analog" era, I processed black and white photos myself and I soon turned towards digital technology. I am still on the same road today that I discovered in the analog darkroom using photographic films and chemicals, before the advent of computers. By emphasising the important details and omitting the unimportant I reduce the number of colours and tones to create a graphic effect. My works can be well placed in most interiors even in large dimensions, however my favourites are minimalistic and loft environments.

My motto is: Trends should not be followed but shaped.

I am member of MAOE (National Association of Hungarian Artists) and MÚOSZ (National Association of Hungarian Journalists).
I am a former member of the Hungarian Advertising Association, the Hungarian Trademark Association, the International Trademark Center (ITC) founded by Paul Ibou and the National Association of Interior Designers, Hungary.
